Does anyone know what spikes I have to get to replace the original ones in my Nike Fast Saddle (I think thats what theyre called)? I got them in JJB last year and the soft spikes are knacked now. DO I need to get a little wrench thing too to remove/install spikes?

I wish all the shoes used all the same spikes....that'd be too easy for us club golfers though wouldnt it? :)

I took my Pumas to the pro shop and they changed the spikes using the correct types (but different colour) used their own tool. Cost me for £0.60 each spike - I was well impressed, as I thought I had to buy a box as you would in the 'big shops'.

Check if your pro shop will do the same.

Cheers Ken, I will mate ta. Knowing my pro he'll say he doesn't believe in golf shoes and try and convince me to play barefoot.

Or I'll get the usual 'These Benross spikes/shoes/clubs are just as good'

dear dear dear.

Check the Nike website out for which spikes where used and then buy them on EBay a litle cheaper, it seems easy to put them on, I need some new ones and will experience the DIY this weekend (depending on how my shopping trip goes)

The black widow range seem to be popular and usually come in buckets of hundred multiples so prices are usually very good from a pro shop to replace only those that need done.
Im in a dilemma whether to replace my shoes (2 years old and starting to crack a little across the toe hinge) or just persevere with these comfy shoes and replace the spikes and laces.

Just replaced my spkies with Black Widows, Excellent spikes.

Give you more bounce when you walk, traction is ace and the change in an instant.

£10 quid for about 25 in JJB and you can get a slazenger key from there for about 3quid.

Black widows are excellent.. they have outlasted other makes that i have used.
The wrench is not expensive. I keep a wrench and some spare BW spikes in the bag just in case and change within seconds.
I have also heard good reports about the stingers

Whatever happened to the good old steel spikes???? so much has changed during my lay off

I use stingers, seem to offer a bit more grip and last longer than Black Widows. Stinger pros also have a small metal spike in the middle
