Had a custom fit at Clydebank last week, very interesting and enjoyable.Anyway, got my spec and I'm now looking to buy.I've had a price off Snainton and had a wee look about to compare, but are there any other places people can recommend?

I cant use my pro shop, mizuno is a dirty word up there!

If you don't mind 2nd hand clubs, don't dismiss eBay. There are regularly non-standard length/lie clubs on there so you might be able to get the spec your looking for. Probably not in the brand new iron range, but in some of the older models. You might be able to get a bargain.

Yes Mizuno make it hard for the pro shops for some reason, they have to hold stock plus the pro is asked to custom fit everyone, so they usually have to take a hit on the stock unless they get lucky.

But they are worth it

Got fitted for the 53's mate and was hitting them like a dream, I know what you mean though.

Fair enough. You still might be able to pick up a set, but less likely, since they've only been out a few weeks.

I handled a set of the MP53's on Saturday. Lovely clubs. I was going to hit them in the practice net at AG, but I knew that would be deadly so I refrained :D

Couldn't be happier with my MP57's that I got off ebay though. Less than £150 and are simply lovely clubs. I'm officially a Mizzy convert.

I purchased my MX200's from him after having a fitting session at Mizuno, and he was the cheapest by miles.
He advertises on e-bay but is an approved Mizuno stockist and got me my clubs within a week of ordering and threw in a couple of "extras" too.
Nice guy. He will obviously try to put you under a little bit of pressure to order as he doesn't like to be messed around too much. But if you have made your mind up exactly what you want and are ready to order, you've got nothing to lose.

Did they not recommend your local dealer to get the clubs from?

look on the Mizuno website and it should give you the local dealer. They have a few custom fit dealers around the country.

When I went for my fitting they didn't make any recommendations, other than what specification I needed. I was free to choose who I bought from so obviously shopped around a bit.

Thats one of the great things about mizzy. They give you your spec (for free) and then tell you to shop about, but always get the supplier to quote the job reference when ordering.

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with him. My purchase went really easy, and I went on to buy a couple of hyrbrids from him together with a Mizuno bag.
Never mind

Is it true that Mizuno's are shorter (as standard) than other clubs because they're designed for the Japanese?

No doubt about it they really know how to make sexy irons. I do like the new MP53's and was suppose to try them out last weekend but didn't bother as a) it was pouring and b) the golf was on. I'm up at the club on Saturday so I'll give the demo versions a go. The father in law mistakenly asked last night did I need any new golf stuff for Christmas. Mmmm I15's MP53. TM Burner 2.0, new wedges, a new carry bag......

I think if I was ever tempted I'd go to New Malden or Pachesham nr Leatherhead to get fully fitted.
