So Mr Mimms has a Big Birthday coming up.
What do you buy the man who has everything?

So I was thinking about buying him a Scotty Cameron putter.
Obviously a putter is a very personal thing, so I thought about buying from somewhere that has a decent range of putters, maybe can do a putter fitting, and make sure they are willing to let it chnage it for whatever he wants.

Would you think your putting ability was being insulted if Her Indoors bought you a new putter?

Not in the slightest, would be a great present to receive imo

Keep some positive spin in your back pocket should it be needed...........Scotty's offer little help for poor putters so you only chose one because his putting is good enough to do one justice;)

If he likes his current model why not get one similar and from a pro shop where if he doesn't like it the pro may take it back in exchange for something else

How about a session on SAM putt lab somewhere ?

Probably help to decide what putter would best suit.

Not sure where you are but look at Ed Morton at emgolf.co.uk based near Leighton Buzard a few miles off the m1. He uses the SamPutt Lab and another piece of expensive kit that I cannot remember the name of but he is meant to be one of the best putter fitting guys around. He can fit and supply.

That's reachable from home, we're in the Greater Rickg Metropolitan area

Quick update

I booked Mr Mimms a session with Ed Morton as recommended.
Really nice guy, he's now using a new bit of kit , the Quintic putting monitor.

This uses Motion capture slo mo photography and produces more data than you can shake a stick at.
Mr Mimms is a mathematician so he loved all the stats.

There was no pressure to buy a new putter, more how to get better results with his existing one.
I reminded Mr Mimms that a new putter was on offfer as part of the gift, so he tried a few ones and Ed found one that he is comfortable with. Needs to be ordered so watch this space.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

great piece of kit the Quintic, been on one, found my existing putter was doing me no favours, so I bought a new one going on the data provided and sweated over the price but I'm now seeing a mass difference.
