Bit of help please folks.

In the middle of buying a golf job lot. Can't go into details as it breaks site advertising rules, but it's basically loads of clothes, tees, accessories, clubs, bags etc, which I'll be moving on as individual items to turn a small profit.

Can anyone advise on the most cost efficient way to post something, say, the size of golf tees? I will be using various online websites, but concerned that excessive postage will make this a waste of time. Big companies seem to offer free P&P, but probably making 50p profit on a bag of tees.

Always bought tees in bulk bags from supplier and postage has been included. Think small paket posting will eat into your already small profit unless you post at actual cost, ie postage and cost of packaging.

Selling tees can be more hassle than it's worth on small lots!

Good way to boost/establish (Ebay etc) profile, but, unless you have thousands, pretty much a time-waster!

Royal Mail/The Post is still very cost-effective for such small parcels!

If you are considering starting providing these small items as a business start up. consider FBA (Fullfilment By Amazon) you purchase the items, store them with Amazon, they sell on amazon, they post them and deliver for you. As long as you have the volume you just keep refilling the shelves at amazon in order to enable them to fulfill your customer orders.

The charge per cubic metre of space for storage, then a fee for the item, plus a fee for postage. Worth looking into if you can create the volume for them

Anytime I've bought small items like that postage has been via royal mail and rarely have free P&P. Where they do have free P&P the cost is equal to places selling them with P&P added. Postage via Royal Mail should be in the region of £1.50 for a resonable amount of tee posted within large letter limits. If cost price was £1 and you wanted 50p profit then advertise for sale as £3 with free P&P.

Companies & individuals may state free P&P but surely no one really believes that's what's happening?

If its a one off job-lot then better to sell the stuff locally that's economical to post and leave delivery costs on the larger more expensive items

Or bundle the gear (& price) so that a golf bag comes with x amount of tees of your choice
