I aways offer to buy a drink for my playing partners, but on Saturday, got stopped by the current Captain asking me some questions on my way though the car park so i wasn't the first into the bar, got there and the two guyswe played had bought there own!!!!

Ive even had an instance where i got two guys i was drawn with in com a drink and they went and got their own when they had drunk that.

Do you buy a drink for the guys you have just played with or just buy your own?

Winner of the group gets drinks usually. If playing another club, the home team gets the drinks. There are of course times when someone isn't stopping and you buy your own.

Always buy a drink for all my playing partners. Can't think of anyone that has not bought me one either. Perhaps you are not very popular Patrick.:)

WE tend to have a pot as there is a group of about 20 and we put £4 in and take a drink out. The pot is the split 2/3 and 1/3 1st and 2nd.

Happy with that but last year some hawkeye noticed people were taking a bottle of say Peroni which was more expensive and now the amount of drink is limited to 33. Unbelievable.

I always try and get the first drink in as it saves getting of my backside again

In a regular 4 ball the losers always pay the first round - at the weekend it's the winners.

Always get drinks for playing partners in comps - in club matches as well

could be that, but one of them is notoriously tight, the other his guest. Things is that as we were a two ball ( 2 of the usual guys are both injured) we invited these two to join us as there were no times avail at that time. they were supposed to be playing the Allience but that was cancelled at Forres due to frost.

Mybe is was because they were 4 up and lost 2&1;)

I always buy drinks for my playing partners. Losers buy the first round is my only rule.

I don't drink... I don't like buying drinks the same way as someone who doesn't smoke probably wouldn't buy me a packet of cigarettes.

If someone wants to sit down with a nice pot of tea and a teacake then I'll buy :p

I don't mind buying drinks if that's what we're playing for.

I often find I'm getting in the first round more and more in competitions for my FC's, especially galling, like yesterday, they have a pint each and my mate and I have a tea and a coffee, it takes some an age to get to the bar!

In bounce 4bbb games the winners take the money and buy the first round - it puts you out of pocket but the bragging rights are worth it!

did they use telepathy to find out what you wanted while you were in the car park?

did they ask when you arrived? that would make sense

I'm usually first to the bar, and always offer. Some prefer to get their own, and occasionally in a fourball someone will suggest just staying in pairs. I prefer to buy everyone in the group a drink and thank them for the game.

But I don't get fussed if someone wants to do their own thing. Life's too short to worry about trivia.

How do you guys do it if you're only having 1 pint due to driving? Everyone I play with isn't usually planning on having more than a single pint so it gets arkward if everyone starts to buy rounds.

Week days, the losers buy the beers, or if a 3 ball, the best score gets a free ride. Saturday we play for lunch (drinks come out of the swindle pot), and Sunday's we play for a late breakfast, but then we always have a beer afterwards, bought buy the guys who didn't shell out for breakfast.

In a comp, I always buy my playing partners a drink, or a sandwich, what ever.

Friday afternoons I'm usually in a two ball, playing late, so we both get the drinks in.

I used to find because I carry my clubs rather than use a trolley, I was invariably first to be packed up and as such first in the clubhouse buying the first round. As I'm not about to drink and drive it always also meant at least two of my 4-ball avoided putting their hands in their pockets.

As our bar is getting extremely expensive we have an unwritten agreement now that we buy in pairs, partly to keep costs down but also so those who previously used to dodge their round have to dig deep and buy one themselves.

I'm not even talking about a couple of pints, i usually have a coke and my numpty partner only drinks coffee and cheap coffee at that.

We do have a few real tight wads at the place though, some that never make the bar, get a drink off there playing partners then bugger off.

In four balls partners buy each other one.
Drivers usually go for one soft drink followed by a beer.
Three balls, first at the bar, more often than not, me.
I must learn to take longer to dry between my toes.
Last week I bought my partner a beer, finished mine first and sat there a while.
Eventually I said "I'm having a half, what about you?"
He said "I'm fine thanks".
