I'm looking for a new rangefinder this season as I'm worried I'll get rumbled and DQ'd using my IPhone golfshot app! I've seen these 3 on the market and wondered if anyone has used them and what they would recommended! My pro said he uses a laser and so does his assistant. Im aware the Garmi G6 isnt out until 1st march but does look very good. Any help guys! Thanks.

Got the V2 and find it perfect.
Obviously you need line of sight to the target but its accurate and very easy to hold. The case fixes to your bag so its easy to get to.
Easy to use, comfy to hold and worth every penny.

I can only agree with all of the above.

Agree with Imurg, I've got the v2 and find it accurate and easy to use. At my club some of the greens are 30 yards long with a fair bit of undulation. Knowing the exact distance to the flag takes away any doubt.

The difficult bit is hitting it straight enough to find the flag :D

I currently use a GPS but can see the value of the scopes especially when it comes to pin positions. Usually when I think they're about 5 paces on I get there and find they're probably double that !

But - our course has a few ditches and knowing the distance to them for a lay up or the distance to carry if I'm going for it is very useful and not sure how the scope could plot that? Also distances to carry hazards in general if they're just a piece of water with no trees etc to focus on?

One of the slowest players at our club now has both systems - aaaaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh !!

I have a Garmin Approach S1 watch which I find perfectly adiquate for an old duffer like me, measurements to the front centre and back of greens. Plenty enough information for the computer between my ears to deal with!!!

I've heard it's difficult to aim it accurately steady at the target. Any issues here? Is it to sensitive? Also why is the slope version illegal?

It's not as tricky as some make out - even in the wind. With a few minutes practice you'll wonder how anyone can think it's tricky. Pinseeker gives you a distance to the nearest object, so if there are trees behind the flag it will ping the trees, then find the flag.
Slope version is illegal as it takes into account the gradient in determining the distance and that's against the rules.
Fine for general play/practice though....
