Seems the UPro has given up the ghost as of last night so need to get a new gps or laser. Was planning on getting the new Bushnell laser in a few mths when out and keep the gps as well. That plan now scuppered and needing something quicker I stumbled across the Bushnell hybrid, which seems to have the best of both worlds.

Does anyone have one and if so how do you rate it? Can you point me in the direction of the database of courses that are mapped and on the GPS, and is there any cost to downloading the courses as per some GPS machines?

TIA

I have the 1600 pro (no slope as its illegal) laser rangefinder and cannot rave on about it, accurate bigtime! No need for a gps, and you can use it at the range, when practising at the course, in comps etc, it's brilliant!

Why not just have a cheap laser range finder and a garmin watch, does the same thing! I also have used the side of my laser range finder to stick notes about the distance of 1/2 and 3/4 shots with wedges!

I bought a cheap laser once, think it was the longridge one and it was terrible.

the hillman seems to be getting good repsonses at that price point. i would say pick up a range finder first and see if you still need a gps. they really are excellent

I might consider one if I hadn't got either, but I own a range finder anyway and having 1 I wouldn't go for a hybrid just get the other one.

I like the rangefinders as they're accurate to the pin and you don't need to visit a course and set up if the course isn't on or pay yearly subscriptions as some gps's require.

I'm tempted by a GPS, I'd go for one without the subscriptions, as I think they are better off tees (often you can find something to laser) and for doglegs / blind holes or if you hit it really wide. As a result of this the watch just showing front middle back like the hybrid doesn't have the feaures I'd like a GPS to add to my laser.

They're my reasons for these things, what are yours?

What was the upro? GPs or laser?

What are you wanting from yours? What did you use yours for in the past?

If I had neither I'd go for a laser over a GPS and seen as that has a built in yardages to the green I'd go for that above other lasers.

tried the garmin watch a while back and didnt get on with it, not a fan of wearing watches at the best of times so didnt work for me

The Upro is a GPS and ive got sorted of attached to having it, felt weird pacing yardages again yesterday. I believe theres a big argument for both hence why the hybrid grabbed my eye. The downside is ive always struggled getting a laser to work (hence like having the gps as back up, also for when im a little off line lol)

Bushnell have already replied to me and basically confirmed that its their V2 laser and their Neo GPS built into one model, hopefully going to find someone local to have a look at one later, I dare say if I dont get that Ill end up buying a laser (then getting another gps a few mths later lol)
