Is that Burton on Trent? If so its a lovely course played in an open comp the other week. Course really well presented. Lovely 18th hole. food good as well. Region 3 also played in the comp and I am sure he will give you his opinion as well.

Thats the one. Sound promising so far then. Need to play a round but looking for a member to play with to show me the ropes

Yep I played in the same open. I had 12 more putts than I would expect round my own place.

Lovely course, very (imo) difficult greens!

A good mix of holes including a couple of lovely long par 3's, and in good condition. I could happily play there again.

I've always enjoyed my visits to the course and clubhouse.

It's don't think it's that long and the greens putt well if you leave yourself in the right spots.

I am sure region will agree with me but that day the pins had been put in the 18 most difficult positions. It would be hard to say about length as it was bone dry and the fairways did run. Some lovely holes and it isn't mega tight but if you are just off your game I imagine you can rack up a cricket score.

It was the first time I'd played there and I didn't read the greens well, but yes, the pins were very tricky.
On one green I advised my partner to play about 3' of break and it went dead straight! On another I thought it was a result to 3 putt, as the other 3 in my group 4 putted!

If I were thinking of moving there, the only thing I'd need to know is the friendliness of the members. The pro was very helpful. The food was good. The course is a no brainer.

If you have a recce there and need players I'd join you. :)
