Playing in a club friendly in a couple of weeks, just done a quick Google and looks amazing. ..

Anyone played it? Got any tips?

Don't listen to the knockers of the course.
Its a fantastic test of golf.
We had a meet earlier this year there and it was in great condition.
Tips
1.Don't try and overpower the course, keep it in play if you can.
2. Get yourself a course planner they are a great help.

Enjoy

And be ready to play provisionals! Admittedly, the "power fade" was making its presence known on my drives that day but I got to have two goes on a lot more tees than I would have hoped to ...

I agree with PJ though, it was in very good condition back in February when we had the King of Kings meet there. The greens especially, considering how wet everywhere was during that period.

Hallsy posted this before the meet in February, it's worth a look:

Don't want to scare you but it is probably as tough a course you will ever play if the wind gets up. The par 3's are a good test, and don't be short on the 5th as there is a massive bunker that is not always visible from the tee. As for the condition, it will be fine. It can look a bit rough round the edges sometimes but the important parts are always in good condition. You will enjoy it.

Very thoroughly enjoyable track. Was my favourite in the whole Somerset, Gloucester, Avon, Wiltshire area when I lived in Bristol (mid-80s to late 90s)
