Would be interested to know how all your courses bunkers are treated on competition day. Regardless of competition, any day of the week. Is/Does your bunkers be raked?

How often are your bunkers Raked?
Does every bunker get raked on the same day? or do they leave half of them for another day?

Only thing that lets our course down is the bunkers, some holes have bunkers that are 4in deep others have 1/2 inch if lucky. They have four huge piles of sand ready to go in, but it seems they cant find the time to move it to the bunkers. That said bunkers that have sand are always raked.

I play around 0830 tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays and the bunkers are always raked before we go out. The greenstaff always seem to be raking them so I assume they do them everyday. Mind you we arent allowed to tee off before 0745 in the mornings to let the staff do their stuff.

Doesnt mean they're particularly good but at least they are raked

We also have a lot of bunkers, and we have a lot of animals on the course, badgers squirrels, and rabbits, and our bunkers are hardly ever raked daily, the only time they are raked perfectly are open days. Our course is council run and generally for the amount of traffic is in good condition and the greenkeepers do a good job,but i would say the bunkers are the biggest let down. Some bunkers have lots of sand some have hardly any. When we played Ascot in the forum day theres was the same.

Our bunkers don't have much sand in them but they are always raked.

It doesn't help the way players rake them after they've taken a shot.

They moan about having hardly any sand under the ball then rake them from the middle outwards taking a little bit more away from the place you want it!

We only have 4 on the whole course. They're kept fairly well raked as it doesn't take much time.

Jesus really? Just counted ours up we have 61. 30 on the front nine and 31 on the back nine. The 18th has 8 bunkers alone

The hotel that owns much of the land that the course is laid out on have only agreed to leasing us the land as long as there are no unsightly bunkers for the Hotel residents to see. The only bunkers are on other parts of the course.

The fact that, even in winter, you can't see the hotel from any part of the course and vice versa has no bearing on the matter at all....

I agree that most people seem to rake the sand back towards the back in particular and take it away from the hitting area. Our bunkers are usually raked for competitons and twice during the week
Should the green staff not rake the sand back into the middle of the bunkers? Something like no sand in the middle of bunkers should not be an issue if your course staff rake the bunkers properly and not just level it out to look nice.
