I'm a bit confused by buffer so want to confirm I have it right-

I'm a cat4 golfer so buffer zone for me is +4; does this mean if I score 32 points(36-4) there will be no increase?

It will depend on the css for the day.

Cat 4 have 4 shot buffer
Cat 3 - 3 shot
Cat 2 -2 shot
Cat 1 - 1 shot

Depending on the CSS then yes. You can be 4 points or shots less than the CSS and no change to your handicap.

Yes, provided CSS = par!

Cool yeah I meant with CSS too- got 34 points at weekend so will be buffer but wasn't 100% sure. SS is 70- weekend wasn't too bad so think CSS will prob be 70 too

Yes, provided the calculated CSS is the same as the course par. If you where to score 37 points in the same circumstances you would be cut by 0.4.
