The missus, in her infinite wisdom has bought a rocking chair from someone in Buckfastleigh, Devon. It is collection only, and she knew this and was going to drive down on Saturday, stay over and come back to Liverpool the next day.

However, we are doing something this Saturday night.

So, a long shot, I'm sure, but if anyone is local to Buckfastleigh and they are coming to the midlands or even the north west in the next few weeks, we could meet you and we would also suppliment some of your petrol money.

If any offers, please let me know.

just a suggestion but would it not be cheaper to use a courier, must be a cracking chair I have a rocking chair wasn't meant to be but think I missed a few screws out of the packet they sent from MFI !!!!!

There must be someone from Glasgey doing a booze run Lb.
Thats the sort of thing my good lady used to do when i was on distance. Worked on the principle that i would be some were in the verscinity sooner or later.

Perhaps a liason is involved!!![/QUOTE]

Yes, maybe she's having an affair with an ex-glasgow jakey, turned monk, turned brewer, who has a penchant for brass-inlaid rocking chairs.

Or maybe he's got a big cockfosters collection of sherry.

Blackpuddinmonster, that may be a good idea, a moonshine run from Buckfastleigh to Bishopbriggs may be profitable.

How big is the chair? How far are you from Nottingham as I'm up there next Tuesday.

Hello Twire,

It's about 2 hours away from us, will you be in Nottingham into the evening? If she can get to Nottingham, she wouldn't be there until about 6-7 o clock.

I'm guessing it will fit on anyone's back seat.

Let me know if this suits, but I'll have to check with the missus tonight.

Many thanks for the offer, come what may.

I'm taking my daughter up to see the university. We'll be on the road from here at about 05:30 and should be there by 10ish. Look around the uni then away after a couple of hours. If that's any good for you then I'll bring it up.

Thanks, I'll speak to her tonight. She's a teacher, so may struggle to get the time off, but thanks again, we'll see what happens.

Thanks very much, it was a kind offer. She is in work that day and couldn't go. A shame as that would have been great.

Many thanks,anyway.
