does anyone use the brush type tees as needing some new pinks(castles) and seen these on the same website. any good or just a fad/myth/crap tee.

I tried them and couldn't see the point. The good thing is that a) they are hard to lose and b) they last for a lot of shots. The bad thing is they cost a lot, and from a playing point of view, offer nothing.
They can be a pain to get in the ground, but once in are stable, not that I worry about that very often.

What is wrong with an old fashioned wooden one? It isn't exactly the most technical area of the game. Stick it in the ground put your ball on it and hit the ball.
I'm a novice and like to have the same height, hence the reason castle tees, only asking if anyone had used them.

Never seen the logic myself. Exactly how much friction is a 5mm circle of wood going to impart on a golf ball being hit by a golf club travelling at 100mph and travelling at approx 140mph?

i use the castle tees and have done for a couple of years. they work for me, however they do break easily this time of year when the ground is hard, in the autumn/winter they last agggggggggggges!
i think its more psychology rather than actual swing benefits for me!

Why not stick the tee in, waggle it so it is a little loose then they come out easier?

one of my playing partners used them for par 3's a couple of seasons ago, they seem to have been dropped from his kit now though.

I stick to wooden ones myself

[/QUOTE]yeah, but i need to know that the ball is the same height brendy, i cant guarantee that if i put a wooden tee in. its the OCD in me ,lol...cant help it! just like i cant tee of with a divot/broke tees/ anything within about 500 ft of my ball, lol!

I've got two and you can have them for free if you want. I only ever used the big one for my driver, but the only advantage I could see was that it didn't break. (I broke a smaller one with my 3W when I hit the ground so hard behind the tee it snapped in two and I never found either half!)

A wee bit of OCD going on there BB, surely you play with the height for low and higher flighted shots with the driver.
I use regular 2 1/2 - 3 inch tees and as long as the driver can get at the ball, I wouldnt worry about being a mm or two out.
The castle stuart gratis tees are perfect, luckily we were given handfuls of them at the start and on the way to the 10th tee. :D Only broken two so far.

Ask Fabian, I'm sure he won some in his legendary "bag of shite" at Machrihanish!
