The secretary of Royal Ascot called me this morning. Apparently the monthly stableford was some Fullers pormoted event and I've won a case of London Pride. Not much cop to me as I don't drink anymore (unless special occasions). However on the plus side I think I get put forward into some sort of regional event. Think I'll probably put the Pride up as a prize on members guest day.

Sorry Homer - wrong comp. The EGU Gold Medal attracted a case of London Pride in addition to the medal and the best scores from your County Union area (number dependant on size of union) qualified for all expenses paid weekend at Woodhall Spa. Unfortunately that has been and gone, as has the weekend for the qualifiers. What you have won is the London Pride Summer Swing - all you will get is the London Pride and our congratulations. I could be persuaded to drink beer if it's going spare.

Thanks for clearing that up although the secretary was pretty clear that there would be another event although it wouldn't be the first time I've had wrong info. Much as I'd love to quaff the prize I'm virtually teetotal these days and so will probably offer it as a raffle prize on members guest day. Thanks to Fullers for prize though
