I have just moved clubs. They operate the BRS booking system and I need a number from my new club so that I can book tee times. I joined on Friday and the number has still not come through so I rang today. The manager told me it was likely to take two weeks as letters had to go between English Golf, Congu, BRS to generate this. I'm not convinced as in the past I have been given a BRS number within a day or two of joining. I know there are people on here who deal with this type of thing. Is the manager correct in the time taken or is he covering for some other reason?

Just looked at your new Club, members can register on website for BRS.
You can still be able to see the Clubs BRS as a visitor, have a look then phone Pro Shop and ask them to book you in.
Our BRS is dependant on you being a member and the account is controlled by the Club, the only thing I can think they are involving England Golf or Congu would be to confirm your CDH No or Handicap. Sounds weird mate.

Purely from a personal perspective (no expertise) it was virtually instant when I joined a club recently and as far as I understand it the club's version of the BRS system is entirely annexed from anything else and is the sole control of the club

However, there may well be different ways of running the platform which introduces more procedures that I don't know of

Thanks folks. I've joined Burgham Park. They moved out of administration 3-4 weeks ago, a new manager, a former golf pro, has taken over. The club is owned, it is not a members club. The admin side of things so far is not very smooth. I was wondering whether there is a hang over from the administration still and they are trying to cover it over. Getting a BRS number previously was very quick, just as Croc & Jamesy have pointed out.

I know I can ring to book but it is a bit of a pain and negates the advantages of online booking. I need a membership number provided by the club to get going, it is not something I can do without that. Until that is generated by the club / BRS I am stuck. I'm not going to make a fuss, how to make friends at a new club!, but I just wanted to check.

How far did you get registering on their website link ?

Verify details, the second step. I entered my email address and it must match the details held by the club. I presume the club has not entered it yet.

When we joined Whipsnade they set us up with a number immediately...While we stood in the shop....Took about a minute.....

Congu should have nothing to do with it, I joined with a mate who hadn't held a handicap at a club for years and we got got the BRS stuff through email the day after signing up.

England Golf and Congu have nothing to do with any BRS you have in place - the manager is telling porkies

iirc when I re-joined elgin and went in with my green fee's I was given a membership number and was told to use that for BRS and to just create a password when registering. basically took minutes.

seems odd they're messing you about.
