Brookmans park, hertfordshire

I take the good time with the bad times. I'm paying for it by working now and probably up until much later. All with an ear infection too :(

Anyone ever played here? I'm there Thursday for a work event.

I have played BP quite a few times, it's a really nice parkland members course, not too tough a walk, a nice variety of holes and a bit of water here and there, a couple of good par 3's. I should think you will enjoy it, could be a bit soggy under foot though.

Well it wasn't quite this

It's a swamp.

Nice enough, but wear wellies.

but it was a bit worse than this

It was okay as a layout. My main dislike was the almost total lack of definition of the holes visually; the rough had been cut back to such an extent that it was almost impossible to tell from the tee where one ended and the other started. The bunkers were thoroughly tested and proved to be very good, the winter tees were very scruffy but the standout were the greens, which were nothing like as soggy as the rest of the course;putts rolled extremely well and they were very true. Not an unpleasant course and we were very well looked after by the staff, and the food was very good. Overall not an unpleasant experience but I can't say I fell in love with the course.

I agree with your views. The rough and fairway all looked the same. The greens were superb, rolled so true. I had 5/6 one putts which never looked like leaving the line.
Overall I thought the holes were all the same and there was no signature hole at all. The food was nice and it was a proper members club, we celebrated some old chaps birthday with him!

I played really well so enjoyed the day, shot a +8 79, 40 points, 23 out 1 over par, then 17 coming in with a 42. I lost on count back though! The par 5's on the front were all pretty short, I birdied all of them, one of them was a driver 8 iron to the green.
