My place was littered with them today....
Every teebox covered in bits of wood and plastic...
I recycle some wooden tees for use with fairway wood teeshots and par 3's
Last year, for a while, we had a little tray next to the tee markers but they disappeared almost as quickly as they arrived.
So what happens at your club...?
And how long does a wood tee take to biodegrade..?

Ah, that's the latest improvement at our place; an utterly hideous plastic cone, on a metal spike, for the collection of said items, available in white, yellow and red to replace one of the two wooden tee makers we used to have; we now have one wooden marker and one revolting piece of plastic.

Played Wimbledon Park last week, they have a small tray, wooden sides, mesh bottom, both tee markers remain, much tidier and less intrusive.

At our place the Broken Tee Fairies clear them up every morning before play.

I tend to pick up broken tee's to use on par 3's or if i'm using my 3 wood or 2 iron off the tee. I tend to end up with a pocket full buy the end of a round.

Where is it you live again Patrick :ears:

I only use broken tees on par 3's or fairway woods, once used I pop it back in the upturned green cone beside the tee for someone else to use;)

We have a little wooden box on each tee that they are put into. I pick up any loose ones I see, I rarely hit driver so tend to use a broken bit on each tee and saves me providing them lol

Little box or come at the side of the tees

Although when I'm teeing up, I have to make sure there's no broken ones within my eyeline - drives me mad!

Pretty much word for word what i would have typed.

On a side note, head greenkeeper at my last club said the tee mower had been badly damaged on 3 occasions within 6 months due to plastic castle tee's jamming the blades.

We have a little pot by each tee but very few seem to use it. I cleared loads up yesterday waiting for the green to clear on 17. Personally I pick up the broken ones for use on par 3s

We have little tins the size of a small plant pot by the side of the blocks that all broken tee's get put into. There really handy to recycle or take a couple of heads for the next par 3.

They are a pain and do tend to look unsightly.
I am old school and tend to tee the ball low so to all the numpties who buy cheap easily broken very long tees and can't be earsed to pick them up .....thank you.

For info in the 1950's a guy once invented an unbreakable, virtrually unloseable golf tee. It was magic and soon caught on unfortunately the Pro's were not so keen to stock an item that would lose them money so within a couple of years it faded away.

See my sig - I am constantly picking up broken tees. A habit I picked up from my old man, though I manage to suppress the urge to say "People have too much money nowadays" like he does.

On a side note, I cannot believe the number of people who leave perfectly good tees in the ground on the tee box.

A pile of sand is cheap.

Loads littering the tee boxes this weekend despite there being a mixture of the mesh bottomed boxes and the metal cone shaped markers types to put the broken ones in. I just picked one off the floor, used it and put it in the container

Don't see many at our place as the seniors pick up and recycle almost all tees they find.
One of them even takes away broken castle tees and sharpens the end to use as a standard tee next time he's out.
