First Society outing of the year, first hole - broke the shaft of my PW on a tree.

It's a Precision Rifle Flighted Lite R4.5

I've found an outfit called 'The Golfworks (Europe)' that's not far from me that seems to deal with these shafts.

Anyone used them, or heard of them?

murph, checked with the pro, yes they could do it but their supplier (Golfsmith) doesn't have any 4.5.

mikeyh, same problem with your suggestion, thanks anyway

oh, and The Golfworks aren't there any more, at least their number is unobtainable and Yel don't list them. I've emailed Precision to get an up-to-date list of their UK suppliers, which I'll put on here if they reply.

Is this an early excuse for next week - PW out of operation!
I hope you manged to get it fixed in time. Its always the clubs you need the most that get knackered. I could live with it if it was a 4 iron but I use my PW all the time.

Homer, no chance of getting it fixed beforehand, at the moment I'm not even sure there is a shaft in the country, Golfbidder is looking to be an option.
Played again today using a combination of gap wedge and soft 9's though a strong wind played havoc with selections. the short par 3 over the pond that's a natural PW for me was interesting - I blew it to the back of the green with the GW, but it does have a stronger loft than most.

Found a club fitter that has a shaft, 40 miles from me (easy run) and turns out he's one of only two Precision trained Rifle shaft fitters in the country.

Really nice guy, had a long chat with him and lots of playing with toys, learnt loads and it turned into an impromptu short cf session, only stopped because customers arrived.

He will fix and get them (he's using the 9 to match against) back to me in the post in time for Wednesday game, and he's going to include a demo club fitted with a Nippon 960 shaft for me to try at leisure.

Optimum for me is 1.25" longer shafts, mid-kick
