Played my local course, Bulwell Forest in Nottingham, after work yesterday and shot a Gross 86. I have been consistently scoring mid 90's this year but last night every part of my game came together for the first time in the same round. I have been putting in a lot of practice at my local range and feel that this is now paying off. Hopefully the handicap will start to tumble...fingers crossed.

Well done Blindpete. Many's the time I would be happy to break 90.

Bulwell Forest is SSS.67 so your nett score was three under that, but I understand it is a very tight course so you must be hitting it straight too.

Well done, Pete. I played a few times at Bulwell Forest in the late 70s when I was a student at Trent Polytechnic (now Nottingham Trent University). Good little course as far as I remember. I lived in Bulwell and used to drink in the Horse & Jockey. You can't beat Nottingham for beer (Home & Shipstones) and curries. And the Nottingham people are friendly - they call you ''Duck''.

Congrats Pete. This is a big milestone and you should be chuffed with yourself for putting in the practice and reaping the rewards. If you score 18 bogeys (not that one would) now's the time to convert as many as possible into pars....short game, putting, short game, oh yeh, and short game!! Become deadly with your wedge/8 iron (or what suits) around the greens and 80 will be just around the corner.
Nice one,
Dave

I have found that that it's all about the short game, I may be stating the bleeding obvious, but improve yr game from 100 yds and in and the game becomes soooo much more fun. Whilst I still love blasting the odd ball off the tee with the driver, nailing an approach or seeing a chip go close is ultra rewarding and yr score will reflect this.

Keep up the good work!!!!
