Been playing since around May this year and for the past few weeks ive been scoring low 90's, 91 being my best.
Tonight however I scored 89! and the great thing is, I know I can go lower! I could of saved at least 5 shots in tonights round. A birdie putt rolled out, left a couple of par Putts hanging on the edge of the cup, hit a nice shot uphill just of centre of the fairway, seen it bounce, walk up the hill.... never seen again :( Also two triple bogeys.
Can't wait to get back out again. I said just last night I wanted to break 90 before the end of the month, suppose i had better set another target!!!!

Quality stuff. Always good to read, particularly noting the joy one has in typing it. It's my aim to break 90 by autumn's end. You're Wiganese i see, which track did you play?

Not quite wiganese, I live right near wigan though. I play at Beacon park in Upholland, not the best course in all honesty, greens are pish but its literally 2 minutes away from my house so its ideal for me.

Breaking 90 after 3 months is unheard of. You must be a natural well done.

Im broke 90 after 6 months, its a great feeling the thing is i know i could have done much better misses a few puts i should not have and a few shoots off tee cost me

Surely not? anyway 3 months ago wasn't the first time I'd picked up a club, I use to have a knock about on the park as a kid maybe 14 or so. Nothing serious, played a few times on a course in 06 then probably 3 times since then till may. Went on the course and just got the bug as they say and I've started playing regularly. I mean to say I started playing properly(as in actively trying to improve/rather than playing once every two years ha) in May, sorry if I mislead anybody..

Sub 90 is a great achievement after a fairly short time congrats!

Onwards and downwards as you said you know you could save 5 shots so a couple more and sub 80 is in reach good luck and enjoy the moment of your PB.

Good shooting fella, my PB is an 81 but that was out with the lads with little pressure, my aim last year was to shoot sub 90 in a medal round which I finally did and now i'm doing it consistently which is nice, think it might be a little harder breaking 80. I know exactly how you feel, use that feeling for confidence over the coming weeks, especially when you don't quite break that 90 mark.
