Was desperate to play golf today after only having managed three rounds so far this year due to the weather. Have been hitting the ball pretty well recently after having had six lessons at the tail end of last year from my Pro, with another two still to come.
So, went out today, determined to do well. As I've only been playing two years, my best score until today had been 90.
I started off well, scoring 4's at each of the first three holes. Then I chipped in from off the green at the 4th and I figured that I was in for a good round.
Despite carding two 6's, I managed to chip in from off the green a further twice and had only 13 putts on the front 9 and 15 putts on the back 9.
My total score for the round?? 76!!!
I actually thought I'd shot 78 until my playing partner pointed out that 37 plus 39 was, in fact, 76.
Can't describe how I feel - it's just amazing.
Just hope I can keep it going and get a decent handicap cut now, come the start of the season, as I figure that a score of nett 54 in a Medal would have me being called all sorts of names!
