After the furore in cricket re Mr Gayle and his subsequent fine and apology. I was gobsmacked to see the news this morning re ms Broady Endlands no3 tennis player.
She was playing a game and her opponent " threw her racket " during a rally and it hit a ball boy. Broady said according to the rules she opponent should of been disqualified. She was not.
Broady wen ton to win. However at the end of the game they were going at it hammer and tongue at one another with Broady visibly upset.
my point is if Mr Gayle gets his punishment, how comes nothing happens here re this tennis incident.
For the record I like a bit of spice in sport, but why punish one and not this other.

Different governing bodies. I would hope that tennis follows crickets lead but I doubt it. They seem a pretty ineffective body.

Certainly not 'ineffective' imo.

The Supervisor came out, made a decision and that was the end of that matter. It seemed to spur Broady on - she's in great form currently.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a subsequent follow up review of the post match incident (a separate one). And there will definitely be further action concerning the original incident. It may involve (TV) review of the actual incident to determine the size of the fine that WILL be imposed for the Warning Code Violation. I believe there is considerable scope for further action also. Though, having made a decision on the original incident and the offender now out of the tournament, it will only be for 'future conduct'.

How is this even slightly comparable to the Gayle incident, other than both being sports? You're clearly clutching at straws to try and justify things...

I am not trying to justify anything other than your comment that it's not comaprible it's not. That was my point. Gayle asks a girl out and gets fined. Tennis girl lobs her bat which hits said ball boy and all is tickety boo.
personally think one incident is worth than the other.
