I had a cracking day on Thursday at Woburn course and weather were perfect.

I did notice that everyone I watched played at a decent pace. Admittedly I jumped from hole to hole and group to group, but no one seemed to be slow at all.

What does take time is getting 25!!! people in the marquee groups around the course.

Players, caddies, commentators, score keepers, stats people, gps man, camera crew, director etc etc.........it's not just the players who contribute to lengthy rounds out on tour.

If anyone is going on Sunday, I will be on duty between the practice putting green, and first tee, from first tee time to last. Perfect really, as I can then follow the leading groups go round.

Darren, in the two groups I have carried the scoreboard for, apart from the players and caddies we have had two people inside the ropes, me and the scorer. Think I need to get with the marquee groups next time.

Good stuff Robobum. This BM will definitely be on my list of events to visit next year. Especially if Luke Donald or Justin Rose host it down south.

It has been a fantastic event and the OP makes a good point about the number of others in a group over and above the players, caddies and a referee. I understand the scoreboard marker, but everyone else??

How did you get the volunteer work your doing at the BM Richart. Through your club, apply direct, I assume you get to play the course Monday and keep all the kit you've been wearing.

Went along today had a walk round with different groups and darted between groups teeing off and playing approach shots. Spent some time at the range.
If you've never been to watch the pro's before you should try and get along just to appreciate how good they are compared to us mear mortals. Watching on TV just doesn't show what phenomenal ball strikers they are.

I was recommended by a friend for my natural scoreboard carrying ability.;) They needed someone at short notice, so I got the job.

Unfortuntely we don't get to play on the Monday. The gear is good though. Nice matching top and waterproof by Abacus, together with a cap, all with the British Masters logo on.To be honest I would have paid a few bob to have the chance to be inside the ropes watching top Pros play.

The volunteers are having a party after the presentation, so hopefully there may be a few more goodies to be had.:)

I had a great day there today with my family. A really well run event, easy to get around, everyone seeming to do as they should and a great atmosphere.

It was not the ball striking that shocked me, it was the height they hit the ball that I was not expecting.

Course looks like it's holding up well considering the start of the week.

A great day out!

So far this has been a great event and the Sky coverage and support has been really good. Bodes well for the future Open coverage I think.

I'm not a fan of Sky at all but fair play to them for doing this so well.

Just please get rid of Mark Roe !!

No need for Monty and Co - it's been great without them

What happened to Bradley Dredge in this tournament he was right in contetion after two rounds and didnt come out for the third round? Agree with the Mark Roe comments isnt David Feherty looking for a job :D

If anyone wants to see how to play at the right pace then watch young Fitzpatrick - a quick look , set up and then hit

Refreshing to see

Whereas with us it's - a quick look, set up and then hit - try and find ball in clag, walk back to tee ...............
