So with the Ryder Cup out of the way we can get back to normality - or as near to normality as you usually get!!??

Anyone going to The Belfry on Thursday? I know one or 2 are going wednesday but if anyone else is there Thursday we could meet up somewhere.............

The course is looking good; the rough just off the fairway will require some thought as it will be reluctant to let a loose shot go. greens were fast (by UK standards).

I now have a golf cap signed by Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke and Graham McDowell - three very nice guys.

Didn't see Monty - the pro-ams were shotgun starts morning and afternoon, well under way by the time I arrived so difficult to work out where they were on the course.

10th is good viewing

I will post a link to some photos (if they're any good) before the weekend.

Monty totally blanked me & I was wearing a Yonex cap. though he'd already signed quite a lot of things & he clearly needed to be elsewhere it seemed.

Got mine signed by Darren though which made my day, & month, not to mention year. So all is well with the world.

Monty blanked you ? Awwwww I wouldnt give him a moment of my attention anyway, big spoilt kid imho. :-/

I can never understand the need for autographs etc, dont you find it quite belittling to yourself ?
They're just normal people who happen to be very skillful in what they do, and thats the only reason I'd go and watch.

Joe Calzaghe was in our pub a few months back, but I certainly didnt bother him for an autograph :)

ChrisMc, spur of the moment; they were happily signing and chatting to the gallery. I had a light coloured cap on so . . .

they are the only autographs I have (I was going to say or ever had but remembered getting a signed photo of the Beverley sisters when I was 6)

to those who plan to attend, watch where you stand. DC caught one of the marshalls on the head with his first drive. very apologetic and concerned as you would expect.

despite the blood, the marshall refused attention so when the hole was finished DC signed the, still bloody, ball for him.
