Did anyone watch it? You can see it here

Was this intended as a bit of fun or is it part of the European tours attempts to expand their audience.

I personally haven't watched it as I didn't even realise it was happening

I watched it like live and quite enjoyed it. It was just a bit of fun, good atmosphere with the crowd etc. Sort of game show golf. The format was a bit rough around the edges and got a bit repetitive but definitely has potential.

Ditch the celebs, though, or at least get some that are better at golf!

Just watched a little of it. Seems a good idea, as you say the format felt a little awkward at times. Would be good to have the players mic'd up as players like Sulli have a good sense of humour and we missed out on that. Perhaps three holes would work better but clearly that may be not be practical/cost efficient.

Also think the celebs weren't needed. Got a little tired of seeing them all on their phones in the background

I enjoyed it too, until they wheeled out Piers Morgan, Kevin Peterson , Brian McFadden and Shane Warne. I thought they were never going to finish the hole.

Agree with Matt611....it started off feeling awkward and forced, but I thought by the middle it felt relaxed and good fun. Would love to see more of this kind of thing as I really enjoyed it.

i think they should just do nearest the pin KOs (each pro has 5 shots for example) rather than playing a whole hole. would make it a lot easier to keep the audience engaged.

was the same thing wasnt it, no one holed a putt all night mainly as it was too dark for them to see properly

whole thing felt like another sport being dumbed down for those with no attention span, but then I guess it wasn't aimed at people like me

This is where the night golf on the floodlight course in Turkey would be a better compromise

I have just watched it, it was a bit of light hearted fun, The standard of the celebs was poor and didn't really add much to the program.

I don't know much about Brian McFadden, singer obviously, but the others would be near the top of my list of people I would hate to be stuck in a lift with.

Celebrity section was painful - they could have had some top under 12 kids playing which would have been more fun for us and for them. Maybe team them up with a pro or something.

Agree it was all a bit clunky with the buggy rides etc. I'm sure they will hone the format into something better the next time they try it.

 great idea. Lets hope they develop the idea of it into something like this. maybe alternate shots with a junior golfer ???

Whilst it may be a great idea, it'll never happen. This idea isn't to target people already well into golf, its a bit of fun to get those who don't watch golf to watch it. Its short, its quick, its bright & its loud. Add some celebs who people know & you might just get a few new viewers. Doing the same with 12 years old juniors isn't going to get the casual viewer watching and interested IMO.

Agree with this, have it more like a version of that big break show that was on the golf channel while that was still around, so we don't have so much arbitrary putting.

Class concept mind, just needs fine tuning. Rob Lee shouldn't be anywhere near it either, probably nor should Stirk but I'm not fully against her yet.

Liked the way all the pros wore their hats and visors to keep the sun out of their eyes :) Or sponsors happy.
Guess there were floodlights.

Quite enjoyed it, yes could dabble with the format. Going with gimmies might have sped things up.

It was ok with pros - agree they should be mic'd up

Ruined it with the celebs - that's a total waste , maybe have a few young amatuer but don't see the point of the celebs especially when it's people like Morgan !!

It lost of bit of flow at times and I would be worried that encourages the shouting out etc you see from crowds in the US

Prefer to see the master classes that we saw last year from Woburn as I'm not sure what the Hero Challenge was trying to be ?

Think we're getting those today.

Anyone know what the actual length off the back blocks is round there? Several tees are further back on an aerial than the longest set on their card or on the tour website

They are showing a putting comp and it's now 20 mins in and it's not great viewing tbh - watching celebs putt isn't edge of seat stuff

No doubt great for the kids there though
