Yet again what should be a shining beacon of the talent and diversity of this country music is ruined by talentless dross presenters thinking that loud = funny. Poor script, bad delivery and huge egos. Why doesn't a TV company take hold of this and make it a proper award ceremony to salute the talent instead of a mish mash pandering to very limited demographic audiences. The coverage is embarrasing from the presenting to the camera work to the voice overs.

I cannot stand fearne cretin, she has no talent whatsoever and all I can think is that she slept her way into showbiz.

Terrible voice overs from johnny vegas.

Did you hear estelle with the ting tings? Now there is a woman who cant sing to save her life.

Loved Kings Of Leon, really looking forward to a bit of lady ga ga.

Never really got on with award ceremonies, a bit too back slappingly american for me. If you have done a good job, you kind of know, and maybe a quiet knod from somone who is in the know, and appreciates your efforts is enough. It doesn't need to be a big show, with presenters, and all the razz mattazz. To me, it is catch 22, anyone who wants to win one, should be excluded on principal.

Why do the powers that be think that Actors/Comedians can present award ceremonies like this? You need a Presenter not a couple of prats who went through drama school and made a few people laugh.

Got to be honest I really can't get excited by the Brits - crap name for starters.

Kings of Leon were awsome, they are fantasic live, did'nt think U2 were on form though they never seem to live up to the hype.

I think if Kylie had been allowed to do the job on her own it would have worked. She's got a bit of talent and can string a sentence together. Fearne Cotton does seem a bit of a one trick pony and certainly not worth the hype she seems to be generating lately.

Cant stand this sort of thing and now dislike the Brits even more after last night, got on the tube in my sandals due to my blister and got my toes trod on by several high heeled women off to it. Was mayhem walking past, millions of screaming kids running around - was like hell.

HTL - I can't decide if the image of you on the tube in your sandles is tragic or hilarious!

I hate the tube at the best of times but throw in a bunch of heel wearing drunks and it sounds like a nightmare!

I havent followed music much since the early 80's, apart from the occasional band or singer shining above all the absolute dross in that time, I havent seen anything much that deserves an award. Most of it to me is noisy, poorly sung crap and has been for about 20 yrs. Groups like U2 have never really lit my fire but were pretty good in their early days and how the **** Bono gets the noteriety he does just makes me laugh at the inadequacy of the human race, aim low and all.

These days its all about the industry looking after itself and its own, its not about quality or something special, or its about the industry manufacturing a performer, who usually performs someone elses work.

The music business to me is cheep and tacky today, but it seems to be what the errr...wa*8....ooops! masses want.

The Brit awards has become an absolute CRAP waste of screen time.

I saw that too hapless. Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox presented the Brits sometime in the 80's.......it was cringingly embarrassing to watch. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. True, it's never been the same since Noel Edmonds presented it sporting dinner suit and dicky bow.
Nowadays they've let the screaming kids in who just make it into a very noisy, tasteless occasion.

Watched it the other night but was non too impressed!

I am a great beliver in getting the rewards for the work you put in which is why Fish and Marillion remain my two favourite artists. Marillion in particular are great at using their grass roots fanbase to pre-order an album which is normally not even written in return for credits in the sleeve notes, freebie demos and priority booking for gigs etc.

Fis also does huge amounts for his fanbase and is organising a convention in Leamington later in the year with tickets only going initially to fan club members. It will include album artwork displays, acoustic sets in pubs during the day Q&A's and two full blown concerts on the Saturday and Sunday.

My point is that even though they produce (in my opinion) some decent and relevant music they are never going to be mainstream again and radio etc won't touch them. By respecting their fans loyalty they can continue to make great music. That is what it should be about - not 5 drunken 20 somethings (Girls Aloud - caners of the year !!) selling pre packaged pop dross to the mindless masses
