I am looking for a course to join in Bristol. I think I will join the Kendleshire due to its practice facilities.

I haven't actually played there, but I am looking for a good test!

If anyone has any reviews good or bad of the kendleshire let me know!

Cheers!

SRL,

Not sure which side of Brisol you are but our place is worth a look before you take the plunge. Fees comperable and 36 holes to go at including open qualifying course.

Depends on how far OP thinks is too far really. My wife works in Filton and prob is a 40 min drive. Not doorstep i grant you but other members drive from further afield so certainly worth considering, as is your place, B&C, Players + couple of others as well as Kendleshire.

The major thing I am looking for is a really solid practice area. Which kendleshire seems to have.

Going up there tomorrow evening.

Spoilt for choice with good praccer facilities around Bristol. Just depends where you live for access.

Kendleshire and Players are excellent. Chipping Sodbury is not bad either.

Both B&C and Long Ashton are very good for practice facilities too. The county squads hold a lot of training stuff at B&C.

Further out - Cumberwell is great too.

What do you want from your practice facilities?

Filton has a massive hitting area, chipping and pitching green with bunker, a small green to hit longer shots to, putting green...
No driving range though so no good if that's what you're after.

stay away from the players unless you like long courses , also check what the course is like in the winter , think your choice is the right one from what i have heard .

Driving range is key and kendleshire seems to have a great one, i like the look of the course too. As a whole package kendleshire looks good.

It does look nice. I need to get out to a few of these courses to try them out. Joined Filton for the convenience and haven't really explored much else in the area.

Kendleshire looks great. I know Gary Smith used it for his linear method DVD and the short game area looks superb and I'd love something even vaguely comparable at my club

Best buddy (we were both Filton members until family interrupted our golf memberships) was a member at the Kendleshire but left a few years ago to join The Players. I can ask him for a comparison.

Played the Kendleshire a number of years ago, lovely setup and I think it has a combination of 18s that you can play ( from memory). As Homer said Gary Smith is based there and they have a very good short game area.

Course wise - I hope you can swim :D

JCW, I think the players have build a second 18 now that is much shorter than the main c/ship course so I think they now have the c/ship course, a 'normal' 18 plus the 9 hole par 3. Quite a nice set-up all be it the courses are 'young'.

I signed up to the Kendleshire yesterday. The facilites (for me) are awesome! 5 holes of 50-80 yards shot zone. Different bunkers. Huge putting green. Nice open driving range. And I havent even been on the course yet. Greens are in excellent condition.

I would recommend to anyone!

I have played the Kendleshire several times and it has always been really good. You have made a good choice.
