Just bought myself a set. Think they look gorgeous.
Wanted to get a set of irons that were a bit different. I was tempted by the ap2s after the Titleist fitting day at Silvermere, but decided they are just so common.

Has anyone else tried these, or even owned a set? (Getting them for a bit of forgiveness as I currently use blades)

Played some J36s (borrowed) for a while and they were nice! Got a mate who plays the J40 DPCs which are even more forgiving. And my clubs are a Bridgestone brand.

Also a 'something slightly different' fan. And Bridgestones/Tourstage are high quality forgings (by Epon).

Have had 2 sets and very good irons, so much better than the bigger manufacturers churn out. Have you got the cavity or pocket cavity? I have the J40 now and too be honest there is not enough difference to move from j38's they are both awesome sets as were the j33's I had a few years ago, the j36 was a attempt to change the look and they were smaller and less forgiving but put it right with the j38 onwards. Most come with project x shafts and they take some getting used to but when you flush one they are as good as any. Be aware that once you try Bridgestone's you will become addicted!

Had a CB set of J36 for a while but unfortunately I just was not good enough for them so sold them to a maye who is a superb striker of the ball, he still has them.
Beautiful irons they were as well. the J36 CBs were just not forgiving... at all.

The J36 were not like the traditional Bridgestone style and were blade sized heads and not that forgiving! J38 and j40 DPC are very forgiving and so much better than the more common options AP2's, jpx's etc
