Had one of these days at our club last weekend, same day as a busy fun charity event so the fitter had a fully booked sheet all day.
Much interest from even the members who weren't being fitted that day and as one of the many who was I can say it was not only a fun and educational experience but everyone got a couple of free balls too!!
After hitting 5 shots into a net with your current model of ball the fitter then had a good look at the stats and decided on a ball that should help improve the overall accuracy and direction of your shots. He explained everything very well (the same thing over and over on occasions!) and everyone who had a go really did seem to walk away a little wiser and it's always a bit of extra fun with people comparing stats (depending on how you measure up!!).
Having played with a couple of the gents who got fitted that day I can say that one gained distance but getting a much better flight on the ball, the other did hit some nice shots and did seem to find an extra bit of distance while enjoying the feel of his new ball.
As for me? Well I stuck with the same ball as before but will give the Bridgestone balls a try soon. The fitter did say the current ball I was using was a good fit and although we did improve some of the stats with the Bridgestone model I decided to stick with what I knew for the day. Brave ball company though letting their balls go one on one with other manufacturers and it did seem pretty honest (as much as anything can in these days).
15 minutes well spent especially if you can schedule it in before a game!
Well done Bridgestone.
