I was in AG in Coventry yesterday and noticed that they had a sale on with 20% off all Bridgestone balls.

As I am a fan of the old model I decided to give the new model a go (£23.99 instead of £29.99) and as there was nobody on our course last night I had 6 holes and hitting two balls off the tee, the old 330s and the new one.

Drive No.1 - New 330s 14yrds further
Drive No.2 - New 330s 17yrds further
Drive No.3 - New 330s 21yrds further (281yrds in total)

So it seems that the new model is better than its predecessor.

Also got a nice black Cutter and Buck Lambswool sweater for £15 reduced from £49.99! :)

I prefer the 330RX myself, and would love to find these cheap down my way. However, they always seem to be the same price as ProVs.

I see you are purely judging the new ball on length.

Surely there are many other factors than length to consider. Personally I choose a ball for it's performance around the greens, particularly off my putter, provided it isn't short offf the tee.

I was only judging by the length as that was the only measurement I had, as for the other characteristics I would say that the feel off the putter and wedge around the green was the same as the old ball and the flight was also very similar, just had a bit more penetration through the air, hence the extra distance. Personally I prefer the ProV1 100yrds in and the 330s everywhere else.

Mr Pumpkin,

just looked at your kit and you are the Mizuno-man!

I have to be honest and say that the B330 does not get on with my Pings at all, they chew to hell.

Prefer Srixon and TM.

I am a TM man myself but have a quantitiy of Cally Ix, Nike One, Srixon Z star and 2009 Titleist pro V in my possession and so I'm reviewing my ball of choice.

I like the spin around the green I get with the Cally but it isn't that long for me. The Nike is a decent ball off the tee and stops well and feels solid off the putter. The new Titleist is definitely longer than the predecessor and stops and spins well but is a little softer off the putter. The TP black is great off the tee especially in the wind and flies a bit longer for me than the ed but the red spins better. Both cut up a tad more than I would like and the red is softer off the putter meaning I prefer the feel of the black. The Z star is a bit like the Cally and not that long and stops brilliantly with some good spin and contol. Firmer off the face than the cally but still a soft feeling

My conclusions: All these balls have enough in them form my game as a mid handicapper. From a preference perspctive it would be:

TP Black
Titleist Pro V
Nike One
TM Red
Srixon
Cally iX

Add to that Mizuno Imperalite waterproofs, bag towel and Mizuno Wave Rider 12 Running shoes and yes, I am Mizuno Man! ;)
