Brent Valley Golf Course - West London

Used to play there occassionally many years ago... Was usually well kept... Only problem was that several of the opening holes run parallel to one another quite bunched together... So can be lots of flying balls around you... Got hit two visits on the trot which is why my group stopped visiting... Worth a round there if you are that close though... Better than Airlinks [unless thats vastly improved]... HTH

And welcome to the forum...

It's a horrible place, at least it used to be as not been there for a few years. We used to play a society day there every year cause it was cheap and they let us play Texas Scramble. No par 5s, very short and often had sticks in the hole because someone nicked the flags. Oh, and don't worry if you hit the ball in the stream that runs through it as some scallywag will be there to sell it back to you.

If that's one of the best public courses in the area, it doesn't say much about the other courses.

I went here on Monday just to try it out for a tenner. It's much better than your past experience! I think it's been taken over by some company recently. The fairways and green were in good shape although some rakes were missing. Not a bad little course for £10 and because I timed it by going right after the rain stopped, the course was empty. There are a few holes that are pretty much the same though.

I've played here plenty of times over the past couple of years and in the last 6months or so it has got a lot better. It's not much of a challenge as every hole is dead straight without many bunkers to get trapped into as well. I played airlinks for the first time about 2 weeks ago and I thought that was better ( southall) and very friendly. Where do you live ?

Brent valley, perivale and horsendan hill have all been taken over by some company and are investing money into them. So in a year or so it should be even better.

Right next to Boston Manor station so literally five minutes away. I'd be up for a round at weekends if you ever wanted one. Newish to London and don't know a person here!
