Some of you may remember my post of frustration a couple of months ago. Well today I broke the 5 handicap barrier and will be a 4 handicapper when i get conformation from the handicap secretary.

It was a windy day but dry. Made the turn in 2 under par with a shank, a 3 putt and 2 missed 5 footers!!!!

Level on the back nine finishing with a bogey. Gave me a 2 under which should put me down to 4.1!

Just thought I would share my day with you guys!

Can I ask how come are you have handicap qualyfying events so early in the year or are they winter handicaps that get adjusted back when the season starts?

No, our handicaps are active all year round.

No, our handicaps are active all year round.

Even with prefferred lies,shorter length holes, temp tees, temp greens etc?

There are no temporary greens only when frosty. We have mats but the par and standard scratch are adjusted in the winter accordingly. And its only preferred lie's in the fairway so it makes sense to me.
