Breaking Bad v Game Of Thrones

Where can I get Breaking Bad from? Is it down loadable via Sky does anyone know? Im keen to watch it as heard good things....

Dexter was good for the first 6 series. I struggled through Series 7, haven't started series 8 as only heard bad things about it :(

I'd kind of agree, series 8 had its moments and if you are a fan you will get some enjoyment from it, but it ran out of steam. As regards to the OPs question, then Borgen or The Killing is the right answer ;)

Ozymandius (last series of breaking bad) is possibly one of the best hours of TV that I have seen. As for the rest, as with many series, there are highs and lows but breaking bad is rarely less than compulsive viewing.

Agree with Dexter, slowly started going down hill after about series 3 and was not impressed with the last one at all.

For me the most consistent, week in week out, entertaining drama is Sons of Anarchy and that still Comes up with at least one massive twist or downright nasty shock ever few weeks (Tiggs daughter being a fine example)

Breaking Bad was excellent, watched all of it over Christmas on Netflix. Dexter was ok for the first couple of series, then I got bored with it. Game of Thrones, is, without a shadow of doubt, the best TV programme ever made.

I have just starting watching game of thrones, on the last episode of series 2 and it is excellent. Really enjoyable so far. Can't comment on breaking bad but that is going to be next on the list.

Netflicks

Dexter is even better

I think you might be in the minority there. Dexter 1st season was good, 2, not as good. 3 and 4 excellent, but then it started to go seriously downhill and season 8 is a travesty. Massive let down.

My wife and I are just watching the Game of Thrones series 1 currently. I think it is alright but the directors compulsion to show decapitated horses and naked women every five minutes is becoming tiresome. A lot of the nudity seems contrived and sensationalist and seemingly appeals to pubescent boys and middle aged blokes who love it because it's the closest thing to porn that they are allowed access to. We are on the last episode of series 1 and to be honest, I'm bored of it. The dodgy northern accents of some of the cast really grate and I don't think we will watch the next series on DVD.

We've also just been given the first series of breaking bad to check out and will probably switch to that instead.

I'm not sure how anyone can say that game of thrones is the best tv ever. Only someone that didn't watch the sopranos or the wire could say that in my view.

The wire was great, the sopranos was the greatest.

Wire and sopranos are the 2 greatest shows ever made. The sopranos episode with Chris and Paulie freezing in the forest is tv genius.

Breaking bad is ace, loved it. It is exclusive to netflix in the UK, get a months free trial and you can watch it all for free.
Second the recommendation for sons of anarchy, great show.
One from a few years back is The Shield, one of my favourites.

Got the box set of sopranos waiting, will get round to it at some point.

Sopranos is/was excellent, the best Management Training course you'll ever need :smirk:

I still watch a full episode if I come across one while 'flicking'.

Game of Thrones is also excellent, lost a bit for me when Liam Neeson got the chop, but it's a very good story. I don't think there is any need to belittle the content as only suitable for pubescent boys and middle aged blokes though:rolleyes:

Breaking bad- only managed 2 episodes so far, it really is a tad slow, not sure I'll be picking it back up again anytime soon.

By not watching the 2nd & 3rd seasons then none of what you've described will seem necessary, as the 1st season is just the building blocks for what is to come, and to say it's for pubescent boys as a substitute to porn is an insult to those that have watched beyond the little you have and seen the characters and plots develop. Perhaps the fact you can't see beyond the nudity is your own failing and is stopping you see the depth of the characters and the way they all link together. As for the accents they aren't meant to be perfect as its not set in old England with English accents, the 7 kingdoms is it's own world and the accents are meant to show the diversity and differences not sound like some Yorkshire farmer off to the Woolpack. Plus if you read the books you would see where it all comes together if you don't want to give it chance beyond season 1.

Think you mean Sean Bean, and without his death there wouldn't be anything to watch as its the catalyst for all that happens afterwards.

Breaking Bad is very good though and well thought out. Other good series not mentioned are Following or and Banshee.
