My home course is Bramptom Cumbria, a James Braid delight created in 1909. The fact one of my friends called it an assult course made me grin. To say there are changes of terrain is an understatement. This course teaches you a lot about stances, one with the ball level with your feet is rare but thhe varied heights give great views of the Penines and Lake District hills. Added to this, the club house has friendly staff and great value goodies and Stewart the club pro is helpful, knowledgable and has a fine sense of humour

I played Brampton a few years ago. Greats views and a really varied and interesting course, a good option on the way to Scotland.
I wouldn't hesitate to go back and play it again.

Played Brampton 18 months ago and loved it. The Par 3 start was a bit daunting in front of 20-30 people, but the course was fantastic, and that Par 4 that plays down a drop of about 100 feet was "interesting". The day I played it was very warm, but the wind up on the top was amazing. I remember hitting a 3 wood into a 190 yd Par 3 and leaving it 20 yards short. Also, the last 5-6 holes are lovely... Will no doubt be up again soon to play it...

I used to play Brampton the odd time when I lived in Carlisle, and it is a fine course with some excellent holes. I wouldn't say it was an assault course at all.

A very good course with a lot to think about and kept in very good condition. I'd recommend and play again if I was over that way.
