"Only" 7 weeks until myself and 3 good friends undertake our annual pilgrimage to Scotland and as is tradition we play a course on the journey on the up. This year we have decided on Brampton. I know a few on here are members aren't they? Any information / tips on the course or words of warning? What's the club house like / food offerings. Any deals people know of that we could maybe take advantage of

We'll be trying to book a tee for Sat 10th Oct around midday ish and hopefully we'll be lucky.

Already looking forward to it!

Avoid the bunkers :)

Great course with some brutal elevation changes. Gets windy up at the top of the course as well. Only played it once, but really enjoyed it and found the club really welcoming.

My advice is get a buggy!

Nice course but very up and down, more a war of attrition by the end rather than golf

My advice to you young ones is get fitter! You and Captainron were crying like babies.

Lovely course and well worth a visit.

It's not a bad track but if you are planning on a stop off in this neck of the woods the only place to go is Silloth.

Did Silloth last year. Really liked it. Will definitely be back.

In that case Brampton not a bad option though as others have said it is hilly and can be a hard slog if fitness is an issue.

With the dates you mention, I wouldn't expect to find the course in tip top condition. The summer has been dreadful up here, cold, wet and miserable ( I can only remember a couple of games when I haven't had a jacket on) so once we get into September everywhere will be soft under foot and greens less than perfect.

Still worth a visit however.

Totally agree that's why we all did a Brampton/Silloth weekend.

Think next year its going to be a Silloth/ (Penrith or Carlisle) weekend.

As Brampton is halfway into our trip up to Boat of Garten, we have decided after our round on Sat to get some dinner before continuing. As I'm the driver I also wouldn't mind freshening up. Are the showers up to scratch there and does anyone know if they provide towels? Will probably give them a call but thought I'd ask on here just in case. Thanks

Brampton has good changing and shower facilities, no towels though, so take your own. been there on a couple of outings and they have looked after us well.
