Boys trip out tomorrow to play here. It gets great reviews, and we are getting a sneaky recon trip in ahead of a big society day later in the year. Any tips or info from people who have played it before?

Cheers

I played it a few years ago, and whilst it was in lovely condition I found it hard going.
Because of the greenside bunkering you have to be hitting career best drives on almost every single hole or you will find yourself laying up and having to chip on as there is no way you are going to be able to make the trip a shorter drive will leave you and hold the green.
But as I say, it was in very good condition, lovely setting, just a little too long for me.
If you are a big hitter you will love it.

Nice. Getting off the tee v.important. Making GIR does not mean good scores as the greens are huge on some holes.

What tees you off?
Yellow= nice test
White= tough
Green ( i think, maybe blue) =Good luck :D

some really nice holes. SI 1 17th my fav!

Played it a few years back in the height of the summer and it was a very good but hard test. The fairways weren't that wide in places and the rough was penal. There is a fair acreage on some of the greens too and so it is important to try and get as close to the pins as possible. Three putt country can easily become 4 or worse.

I'm not sure how it drains but as we have had some pretty dry and blustery conditions it shouldn't be too bad or play too long. I think you'll enjoy it.

Thanks gents. It's 50 yards longer than my home course (whites) from the yellow tees, so that looks a fair challenge given the fairways won't be running. Weather forecast is good, and as the card says GPS devices are allowed I've spent the last hour downloading the centre of each green to my GPS.

17th does look an interesting challenge on Google Earth!
