Has anyone played at Bovey Castle before?
Probably going there for my honeymoon next March and wondering whether its worth taking my clubs and using them whilst she's having some sort of Spa treatment. All the reviews i've found are at least 6 years old and are mixed to say the least.
Is it a real quality course to match the hotel quality or a really quality hotel with a golf course bolted on as an after thought because the owners think it should have 18 holes to entice golfers to stay there? The green fees don't seem too expensive.

from what I have read it looks a cracking place for a game if not too expensive - but from what I saw when looking in the past it is pretty steep - as long as nice weather and in good condition. Quite high end but suspect it has not had the traffic foe what they wanted to charge so deals may be on offer

Played there last year, can't say I was over impressed. The course itself I would class as quirky and it wasn't very well kept. I might have got them on a bad week, but I certainly wouldn't pay to go back.

My in laws played it last year said it was quite a tough course, the first looks great you tee off right up high and it drops loads to the green, really hard to judge

I plan on playing it in the near future

well worth the visit in my opinion. Not very long but a beautiful place! i played it for £35 with a county card so would be worth getting one of those!

Take plenty of cash for the clubhouse, if i remember rightly, a small bottle of 'old-school' coke cost about £3.80!
