Meh, it was a bounce game, off the yellows. And the SS is 70, so my 84 doesn't look so impressive. Had potential though. x

Agree with the last post. You obviously hit the ball well and sunk a few putts so be happy with that. Work on the weaker parts of the game and hopefully you'll start shooting these scores regularly. Enjoy it. You played well.

FWIW I have a 24 handicap because I haven't played in a comp ever. And it was the result of 3 cards earlier in the year. I'm better than 24 and I'm better than hitting 84, which is why it's sooo frustrating.

So why after going through the process to get a handicap earlier in the season have you not played in any comps ?
You'll need to start playing comps or your handicap will lapse and you'll be back to the starting point again

I don't know, the back 9 is definitely harder. But I was hitting my irons so much better than I had had been before. I would have taken a 42 on the back 9, for a 79 total. Comfort zone is probably around 42-44 mark.
It's one of my last rounds before (another) knee operation, and I'll be at a new club. Hopefully with a new handicap!

I really wonder why folk get so weirded out by playing well for a few holes (or even a 9) and beat themselves up for playing more or less to their handicap.
