So I've been a pretty good Snelly's Law disciple but at the end of a recent playing lesson both my pro and I mentioned my putting. My coach wanted me to speed up my tempo and I was a bit frustrated at the number of short putts I missed to right of the hole. I'd had my head turned by the new Ping TRs, especially after the guys had the FOA fitting day and the other putting testing thang and wondered if I should get a mallet...

I agreed to work on my tempo and my coach went away to look at putters that would work best for me. The verdict? Stick with Scotty but have it tweaked for length and lie :D

So my old mucker Scotty is going in the 'Miami Vice' on Thursday and may also get a bit hacked off as well. But if I want to boss the moss it's down to me rather than a cheeky trip to Ollivanders ;)

Just tuck your elbows in, and putt with your torso, you'll be fine. It has stuff all to do with the stick.
Better to putt with the shoulders (pendulum) imo.

And if you don't have confidence in the stick - or it doesn't match your style - than you'll miss the 'clutch' ones!

Hi murph, I do putt with my shoulders in a pendulum. But with my putter at the moment the toe is up which encourages a miss left. To compensate for this I subconsciously push putts and when the pressure is on I overdo it. Anyway the thrust of the post was that I've not bought a new shiny and saved a few quid through tweaking my current one :)

So does it work!? I did similar, was all over buying a new putter. 20 quid later I had a two thumb grip on. Voila a new putter that transformed my putting.
