My course is legendary for its abilty to hold water, I'm thinking of giving golf boots a go this winter, anyone else used them or have a reccomendation?

I recommend you dont bother cos they look silly :D. If the water is deep enough to be reaching your ankles then it's too wet to playing

I bought some footjoy ladies winter boots 2 winters ago.
If they do mens, I thoroughly recommend.
They don't look silly - most people don't notice they are not shoes. Great for when fairways are playable but sneaky puddles lurk in rough

I was fed up with my pristine white shoes getting muddy, ingrained mud as well. Nike came out with a golf boot that looked ideal, covered above the ankle and 100% waterproof (might be just rubber) but could I find one anywhere..........perfect for wet days or muddy courses and thick wet grass

Thats what I am thinking, ive seen some that look like walking boots but with golf spikes,

I am hoping that my new Hi-Tec shoes will cover the really wet periods. They are one piece moulded and should be 100% waterproof. If the water goes above my shoes then I should not be on the course. Nothing lost if they are not perfect as they were only £14.00 on the 60% off deal. Going to give them a go at the weekend.

I got a pair of Hi tec ones last year, just to be used when its really wet or muddy. They do have spikes and a zip that goes over the laces, but sadly they look like them old granny boots of the 70's. Luckily your trousers mainly cover this part.

No water ingress at all though.

I think some are missing the point here.
I wear Hi tec boots in very wet weather and they keep my feet both warm and dry.
I play on a very well draining course ,but even I sometimes have to go in the rough (for my playing partners of course),even the best of shoes cannot stop water coming into your shoes. They are certainly not fashion items but who cares when it is hissing down!

I did order a pair a few years back that looked ok online but sent them back sharpish after I saw them in the flesh, far too clumpy and heavy so hopefully they are a better design by now

My mate has the footjoy ones paddy and with water proof bottoms they look spot on, he gets really sore ankles in normal golf shoes but these sort the problem out. Might invest in a pair myself!

Those are what I am looking at, 54 quid at direct golf
