Now Im not the type to get fashionably outraged and offended at the slightest thing but I can't believe they're getting away with these TV ads.

I don't know whether to laugh or Cringe, it doesn't seem right hearing that on TV and I'm surprised they haven't been pulled.

Have you seen the latest with the Football fans? they're pushing their luck..

Won't somebody think of the children!

Booking ell Dave

Stop being such a booking prude...

I actually agree with you.

Being a Glaswegian ex member of the Royal Navy, i have a absolute potty mouth. These adverts are pushing it sightly.

Especially when i am sat watching telly with my 3 year old girl

I can attest to your foul mouth....

Just been thinking and i an a complete hypocrite. Yes the Booking advert troubles me when my little girl is in the room.

However.....

A trailer for Made in Chelsea Los Angles, just came on the telly and i mumbled more expletives that a chubby brown concert under my breath.

You know how it goes

Mumble "FFFFFFFUUUU" then look over in your child's direction and continue "FFFFFFUUUUUU........LLLLiping heck"

:o

Like you guys I can occasionally mix it a little, and like you I can't say I'm overly keen on these ads. However, even us closet prudes are out of touch. Even though ofcom, or whoever it is that deals with ads, was inundated at Xmas when they first lot of ads came out they rule in favour of Booking.com. Ofcom weren't even taking anymore complaints at one point... obviously, even though so many people complained they still feel there's nowt wrong...

Maybe I'm getting old but, sorry, those ads are in very poor taste.

YouTube it. The first title that has just come up is "watch the second most complained about ever, from booking.com."

Oh right - just seen it - clever use of the word

Annoying as f..........rather than offensive if ye ask me. Like most ads tbf.

Annoying advert and definitely pushing boundaries. It's so poor it would actually put me off the product and I wouldn't dream of using them. And right on cue, there it is on the channel we're watching. Grrrrrrr

I've used booking.com a few times and I can't fault their service but I agree Qwerty their advert is a little bit too close.

I had to rewind it the 1st time I heard it ( the pleasures of sky+) to listen to it properly as I thought I'd heard it wrong.

Seriously? You guys are really THAT upset about an advert which has no racism, no sexism, no nudity (though why anyone finds the naked body offensive is beyond me as well), no scenes of a sexual nature and no actual swearing. Different strokes for different folks I guess but I really can't find anything to be offended by in the advert and I'll carry on using Booking.com as they've never let me down.

Far from upset but it does sound like they're swearing in the advert and no doubt it's done purposely so people remember it. Good advertising.

Hence there's a thread about it. The old saying "there's no such thing as bad advertisement" springs to mind.

Totally agree.

I'd never seen the advert until directed to it by this thread, I thought it was booking funny (well not really that funny but quite clever :)).

I'm far from being offended.

I did think it was close to the bone though, hence why i replied to the OP

Just to put things in context. I have the Macc Lads among other vulgar music on my Itunes which proves i am not prudish (it also proves i am a complete juvenile mind you :D)

just watched it and don't see the fuss personally....quite clearly pronounces "booking".

Upset

What I'm getting at in the OP is the fact I'm surprised they're getting away with showing the Advert Due to the fact a lot of the nation are morally outraged at the slightest thing nowadays.

Nobody has mentioned being Upset.

Maybe my lack of knowledge of advertising standards is letting me down on this occasion.
