It really is pathetic that this kind of thing still goes on.
If Kids are doing it with their parents present it doesn't look like changing anytime soon.

Someone appearing in court tomorrow for making monkey signs at Scott Sinclair during the last old firm match.

Sadly it seems there are still neanderthals around behaving in this manner.

Just pulling his leg.... :D

FD your a bad girl. 😁 My comments were based on the Italian football history and seeing it first hand. had some fantastic football experiences in the San Siro in Milan and Parma. It's odd listening to Inter fans singing to Palermo fans that you are from Africa in a derogatory sense.
Unfortunately the rascism is not just confined to Football. Team Sky ( cycling ) is going through an unsavoury incident at the moment.

Sorry tash, can't help myself sometimes!

Sadly it's still rife, especially in parts of Europe and while I applaud Muntari's efforts it'll make no impact and the idiots will be back doing it next week. Until clubs, back by UEFA are able and wanting to get tough and deal with their fans and get the authorities to punish them through the legal system nothing will change.

Just read that he was actually sent off coz he walked off the pitch and was shown a second yellow. The ref did not do owt coz there was " only " about ten fans shouting rascist abuse. Which " only" equates to about 1% of the crowd.
This on a day on which Inter and Lazio have been threatened with partial ground closure due to rascist abuse.
Not to mention Boston Red Sox apologising for some of it fans hurling abuse at an opposing player and throwing a bag of nuts at said player.

I think the booking was for walking off the pitch, not for talking to the ref about it. Not defending the booking, not sure what rule that comes under. Surely better training required for refs. If the ref did not hear the comments then surely he speaks to the player, tells him it will go in the match report and will be investigated post match. He should not have dismissed the players views on this subject purely because he did not hear what was said. Very disappointing to say the least.

Utterly disgraceful from the fans and the referee

I hope the referee is banned for life

Certainly 'utterly disgraceful from the fans'!

But it seems to me that the booking was for something else - prompted/triggered by the racial abuse!

Not so much a case of 'Booking FOR reporting....' but 'Booking AFTER reporting..'. But maybe that doesn't make such a compelling headline! I'd be interested in subsequent action!

He was booked initially for 'dissent' when he tried to raise it with the referee. When the ref booked him and said he couldn't/wouldn't do anything he walked off in protest earning a 2nd booking for leaving the field without the referees permission, hence the sending off and hence the 1 match ban.

Referee is an idiot
