Why is this course so hard played it the other day and was constantly in the trees! Playing it again friday with another friend and hope for much better this time.Seriously though it doesn't even give the average golfer a chance added to the sheer amount of trees and bunkers are rock hard greens. Anyone agree thats unfairly set up?

I loved it when I played it several years ago. I don't remember it being massively difficult, but then Westerham (my home course) is even tighter in places, so maybe I'm just used to enclosed courses.

Played it a number of times and have always struggled.

Nice course but keeping the ball on the fairway, and out of the sand is all important. A few yards off the fairway and you nearly always have a tree in your way.

Best I ever played it was 9 over (2 over back nine) and that was the only day i remember there that I had everything going down the middle.

As others have said i wouldnt call it really tight but you cant miss by much if you want to get to the green in reg.

Accuracy over length seems the order of the day to score well on there.

The 18th is a bit of a joke hole unless its changed. Uphill par 5 with 2 ponds to go over. I remember hitting a reasonable tee shot but had to hit no more than 7 or 8i to lay up short of the second pond. Going over it wasn't an option as it was considerably uphill.

Yeah, appreciate all you're thoughts look I'm not saying every hole should be easy or anything but the thing that got me was on a few fairways especially front nine the margins are so fine! Having lesson tonight hoping for better tomorrow it's not that i don't like the course just saying it's tough. However my nett 66 in comp has giving me hope of playing better!

Dcross is this your home club? Wouldn't mind a game down there
As couldn't get into it properly last time as I played 100holes for charity 2 days before hand

Should have made that clearer I play at Brierley forest golf club which is where I shot the nett 66! My course needs a bit of tlc so while off of work have enjoyed going playing a few courses. I'll probably enjoy the course more if I drive the ball a bit better!

You didn't do too badly from memory, Craig! :p

FYI, I played here on Saturday and it was the driest course that I've played on all winter. It was in great condition, the greens were running smooth and I had a great time! Definitely recommend it for anyone in the Sheffield/ Worksop area :)

A pal of mine was a member there and has only just left to become a member at Lindrick. Jammy sod, anyway I played Bonghay with him a couple of years ago and the only advice I would give is, course manage, course manage and finally course manage. Play within yourself and you should be ok and enjoy yourself.
Not the best of courses to play in Autumn when the fairways are covered in Leaves. Lost three balls in the middle of the fairway and found two.
