Well where do they go from here

Retire James bond and just focus on new 007s? Could change actors easily.. sexes and races without betraying the books

Bond is very old school in a way he doesnt fit the woke world so maybe best?

Or a hard reboot? Or even soft ?

I like how Nomi was handled ..

Not in your face that she is a women like some films do.
Just she is bonds equal and they worked well
 
There would appear to be 4 clear options (plus probably dozens of others):

1. Go with the fan theory that James Bond is a code name held by many people over the years and appoint a new one in this continuity.
2. Full on re-boot and just start it all again.
3. Ditch ther over arching stroy carried over multiple films and go to one off James Bond adventures again either in this continuity or the next.
4. Go down the 'expanded universe' route and follow other 00 operatives.

All are viable but as the publicity machine loves the appointment of a new Bond, I can see a simple re-boot, perhaps with little or no explanation as with previosu bond changes, so a mix of 2 and 3.

I'd actually of liked to see a little bit more action from her but I suppose she will get her own film to show us what she can do now!

Didn't Craig say a women can't be bond they should have roles written for them

Hinting at this?
 
Could see a younder audience spin off with his daughter taking on the lead role in adaptations of the young bond books.
 
They will just reboot it like they did when Daniel Craig took over. I mean, if you think about it they basically reboot it every time it has changed actor, otherwise he gets 25 years younger without explanation.

I felt that having a black, female '007' in this film was a tongue-in-cheek poke at the people who have been asking for a black or female Bond, and the others who were outraged by that notion. I don't think she will actually take over as "007" since it would be a totally different character and not a Bond film. So yeah, they will just cast a new Bond and start afresh with no continuity from Craig's ones.

Do you not think they'll do something just with 007 for now though? I think the name "james Bond" is whats died with Dnaiel Craig. Bond may remain but the charachter itself - well - he's dead

Why? They wouldn't be Bond films they'd just be a spin-off. I don't think they'll actually kill off 'James Bond' permanently because it's an absolute cash cow when it comes to putting bums in cinema seats.

They might do one spin-off in the short term, but I personally didn't think Lashana Lynch had enough personality to carry it off.

That's what I think that they will reboot it as why throw away licence to print money!

Brilliant ending, really moving for Craig's ending to the story

I want a soft reboot with m , q and Moneypenny kept same actors

At the end of the day, this is James Bond, if they wanted to turn around and say Bond survived that blast at the end, it still wouldn't be the least plausible thing they've done.

This is my point - are we moving away from "James Bond" - a character written far differently to how he is portrayed today - and into the new Double 0 era - one that doesnt contain James at all but a never ending source of 00 stories and events that will forever continue to unfold...

Bond is a character type and tbh the womanising , drinking etc does that fit in the world now? Pc nightmare

So rather than try and make bond watered down just new character

I think that there is room for a few things to run concurrently, Bond films, 00 Films and maybe even young Bond films in an expanded universe. Do not forget that Amazon has recently bought the studio and so my feeling is that we could be seeing a mix of films and TV shows set in an expanded universe.
