Anyone else have a course they play semi-regularly but just can't seem to play well on?

I'm playing a comp this afternoon on just such a beastie. I realise I've never even played the last two holes despite playing two matches and a 36 hole strokeplay comp there in recent memory..... :o

Of course, even thinking like this sets up a self-fulfilling prophecy for this afternoon! I even considered not entering this year, just because of the venue!

About 50 years ago, playing in a 72 hole SPGA tournament at Duddingston my opening tee shot finished four times in the same bunker.
[well...at least I qualified and the reigning World Senior Champion didn't.]

Royal Dornoch off the back tee's, always struggle there. Never seem to get all parts of my game working. last year played a 36 holer and played great tee to green, but then pretty much 3 putted all the way round :(

Pleasington.

Lovely course, lovely setting, nice holes that in theory should be quite good for me.

I haven't been able to play decent round there yet!! Determined to conquer it though......

I'm on the verge of entering the Dorset Open at Dudsbury, a course I've never played well on. Do I risk going up 0.2 or hope that CSS goes right up?

Decisions, decisions...........

Terrific course. The best I've played. It eventually chewed me up and spat me out, but it still couldn't wipe the smile from my face.

Struie was very good also.

Ellie, not so much regularly but annually in a charity day, played it 5 or 6 times now and never been in the 30's points wise although I did score 42 points one year off 14 ;)

Maidenhead. Played it many times in knockouts and club matches. Hawkeye and I got murdered there in the Nike (although HTL did manage a win). Rarely play it well despite knowing it well. Got a chance to change that in a club match on Saturday.

I was talking about broomieknowe, which has chewed me up a few times.

Hopefully, though, I have put it to rest. I had possibly my best ball striking round ever.... Just couldn't get the putts to drop!

Could have been a low score today but still good enough to get me back to a 4 handicap and a timely confidence boost!

Well done Karen, must have been the warm up round at Nairn that did it

42 points and it's a bogie course

Hotchkin white tees for me, never played a decent round from them,

Yellows no problems, whites and I can have a cricket score on some holes.

Do it, I am. Not played in it for a couple of years but thought I would give if a go again. The CSS always goes up and I have had some good cuts because of it. A bit of beast though off the back tees at 6940 yards.

I usually perform badly on courses that I do not like. There are some in our league do nothing for my eye but even though I try to play well nothing seems to happen.
