Played in a bogey comp today and got battered off the course, finished 3 down.

What is buffer zone in these comps?? I'm a cat 3 handicapper, so have I made buffer by being only 3 down??

My understanding is you go up if you lose, hit buffer if you half and go down if you win. The number of shots you win by dictates the cut, so a cut 2 player winning by 3 shots would go down 0.6
