We're playing a bogey competition this weekend. Should it count as a qualifier for handicap. I'm not sure it should. If you get a bogey on a stroke hole then you get no reward other than a win against the course. Similarly everything else is turned into a bogey and a loss so how can a SSS be calculated

There was a par comp at our place at the weekend but I cant stand them so didnt bother entering. I did however see the results and they did have a css so our place does take the comp for h/c purposes I guess.

I thought a gross bogey nett par on a stroke hole meant 1/2'd hole?

Unless I'm very wrong, I had plenty of h'cap adjustments playing a comp described as "bogey". I thought it was matchplay against the course/card as it were.

Then again, it's been a decade at least.

Not too different to Stableford then when you are over par.....

I reckon so. If you come in a hole or two "up" against the course, then the snowman (8) on the 1st doesn't save you getting cut. :)

Hey Homer, I see last year it was qualifier and according to CONGU rules it can be as long as played off full h'cap. I guess we have to record gross scores and stick them in the system at the end.

Whether it should be is up for debate but I'm open for every qualifier I can get.

See you in the morning
