we would all like to be at the best clubs & we all know having the correct tools to do a job makes the work easer to do ,,

what's the worst bodge job, meaning they should have brought the correct tools or hired someone to do the job at your golf club

at my club to keep the golfers trolleys away from the greens they have put a white line away from the greens to keep them tidy Ive seen this at other courses & its a good idea

the problem is they have put the line there Free hand with a spray can (18 times) its so wobbly it looks a real eye sore (it does the job i suppose) them wheels that do the job cant be that dear I'm sure

is there anything at your club that could have been done better

Yes there seem to be alot of trees hanging around the place and they have a tendancy to eat golf balls. I would have definatly used a bigger chainsaw and removed the lot.

We also have the messy sprayed white lines but whats the point in doing them super neat when they grow out and get cut all the time and have to be redone numerous amount of times throughout the winter.

Drainage work on greens during the winter 3 years ago, in November. Cold snap meant that the grass never grew and then when it did they realised that they had used a different grass seed… lines still there now!

I like it - it's a bit like tiger woods on the PS3

Has the OP gone to his club committee and offered his skills and services to help better the club ?

It's hard enough to run a golf club nowadays without knocking them for something as simple as this surely ?

yes i have Ive made 2 signs free of charge for the club one saying ,,sorry no trolleys today,,,, & the other ,,please replace divots,,,, i have all the sticker making equipment & i chat to the greens man thats why i made the signs,,,i gave them to the club pro who is part owner & he asked if i could do some more,,,

went in the club the other day the signs are on the bloody pub bar it takes 5mins to screw to a post i do care about the club i find myself putting other peoples divots back when walking the fairways

The most recent was last night on Facebook the clubs page linking to a new website. So I click and go for a look. A cheap and tacky free webs type site with ads all over the place.

IMO an embarrassment. Worsened by the fact that I offered to host and make a site for them as they have already purchased the domain name. The only thing they needed to do was direct it to my server.

Now they are not using the proper domain and are using cheapskategolfclub.freewebs.com pretty much.
