Really sad to hear his. One of the few coaches who knew what he was talking about. Buy his book off Amazon (used for 2 quid postage)

Sad news indeed! A wonderful man with a very simple coaching philosophy!

I think there'll be quite a few black armbands/ribbons at The Open over the weekend!

No doubt Sam will be holding his own requiem in the halfway house at Sunningdale!

He gave me a bottle of whisky a couple of years ago for doing him a favour. It was months earlier but the next time he saw me he had the bottle to say thanks. A top top bloke.

RIP Bob.

Good guy.
He was of his generation and did not change his ways or thinking when success came knocking.
Did not mince his words when a pupil was not listening to his advice.
Sad loss

Met him on the practice ground at Inverclyde, he was with one of his Tour players going over pre season stuff with him, but, he still took time to walk along the bays and talk to us about our swings and our game. He was quite a character.

RIP Bob Torrance

A Bob Torrance Classic -

Bob to a Pro who came to him wanting to Stack & tilt - Bob replied to his request as follows :-

Son, you can tilt all you want when your stacking shelves laddie.

Don't tell me you brought him back 1000 cigs Duty Free!

Mind you, a guy I was out with yesterday commented, as he was lighting a cigar, 'They are promoting assisted suicide, but don't want us to smoke!'
