I've just been re reading Chronicles Vol. 1 and it has rekindled my interest in his music. Love a lot of the lyrics, great tunes but I can't stand listening to his voice. Who, with a decent singing voice, preferably male, has recorded albums of Job Dylan compositions? I subscribe to Spotify but a search hasn't come up with much.

Any information will be gratefully received.

An obvious one, and just one track, but Jimi Hendrix's version of All Along The Watchtower is one of the best covers ever IMO.

The Hollies made an album of Dylan songs - a bit syrupy from memory.

Or you could just listen to The Byrds!

Not sure about single male singers though.

agreed about Dylans monotonous dronings............he wrote a couple of nice wee ditties though:smirk:

Philistine!

He did write so many songs. Another prolific song writer I like is Cat Stevens and so many of his were released by many others.

Yusuf (Islam) these days; born Stephen Georgiou. Saw him in a packed Shepherds Bush Empire a while ago - a couple of months before seeing Jimmy Buffett (about the same age!) in the same venue!

My favourites

The Byrds...Mr Tambourine Man
Adele.........Make Me feel Your Love
UB40..........I'll Be Your Baby Tonight
Manfreds.....Mighty Quinn

Make you feel my love is a good example. I think it's a superb song & arrangement but I don't like Dylan's or Adele's version. I scoured Spotify and listened to about 30 versions and still haven't found one I really like. The best one I heard was by a young lad at a talent conteset where I was taking photographs, and he hasn't recorded it - yet!
